The group's principal activity is to provide banking and related services primarily in utah, idaho, california, colorado, washington, nevada and arizona. these services include commercial loans, lease financing, cash management, lockbox, customized draft processing and other services for business and other commercial banking customers. the group owns and operates six commercial banks with a total of 413 offices. other services include estate planning, investment management, financial planning, registered investment advisor services and retirement planning. the group acquired minnequa bancorp, internet commerce express, inc., thinkxml, inc., assets of frontier technologies corporation, nine branches of pacific century bank, eldorado bancshares, inc. and its subsidiaries, eldorado bank and antelope valley bank and draper bancorp in 2001. interest and fees on loans accounted for 64% of 2001 revenues; Other interest income, 15% and non-interest income, 21%. |
