XTO Energy Inc. and its subsidiaries are engaged in the acquisition, development, exploitation and exploration of producing oil and gas properties, as well as in the production, processing, marketing and transportation of oil and natural gas. The Company's proved reserves are principally located in relatively long-lived fields concentrated in the East Texas Basin, the Arkoma Basin of Arkansas and Oklahoma, the San Juan Basin of northwestern New Mexico, the Hugoton Field of Oklahoma and Kansas, the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma, the Green River Basin of Wyoming, the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico, the Middle Ground Shoal Field of Alaska's Cook Inlet and the Colquitt, Logansport and Oaks Fields of Louisiana. The Company, formerly known as Cross Timbers Oil Company, changed its name to XTO Energy Inc. in June 2001.
