The group's principal activity is to accept deposits from the general public and apply those funds to originate loans. the group accepts deposits such as now, passbook, certificate of deposits and provides one- to four-family residential, real estate loans, multi-family residential and non-residential real estate loans. the group also originates consumer loans, and to a lesser extent, construction loans. it invests in mortgage-backed securities and currently maintains a significant portion of its assets in liquid investments, such as united states government securities, federal funds, and deposits in other financial institutions. the primary lending and deposit gathering area of the group includes wayne, holmes, ashland, and medina counties in ohio where it operates nine full-service offices.
