OAO Tatneft is a producer of crude oil in Russia. Substantially all of the Company's production and other operations are in Tatarstan, a republic of Russia situated between the Volga River and the Ural Mountains, located approximately 750 kilometers southeast of Moscow. As of January 1, 2000, Tatneft's total proven reserves of crude oil were approximately 861.7 million tons (6,135 million barrels).
