The group's principal activity is to design, manufacture and distribute electronic and industrial power transmission products and systems. the products consist of electronic drives, integrated electronic drive systems, mechanical belted drives and flexible couplings. the group classifies the products into two segments: mechanical business and electronics business. the products are sold to distributors, original equipment manufacturers and end users for manufacturing and commercial applications. the group operates 12 production facilities in the united states, canada, mexico, germany, india and italy. the group has a network of more than 1,000 select independent and multi-branch distributors with over 3,000 locations in north america. belted drives and couplings accounted for 64% of 2001 revenues and electronic and electric drive systems, 36%.
