Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. is a fully integrated, self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust, focusing exclusively on developing, acquiring, owning and operating factory outlet centers through Tanger Properties Limited Partnership. As of December 31, 2001, the Company owned and operated 29 centers with a total gross leasable area of approximately 5.3 million square feet. These centers were approximately 96% occupied, contained approximately 1,150 stores and represented over 250 store brands as of such date.
