Omega Healthcare Investors Inc. is a self-administered real estate investment trust investing in income-producing healthcare facilities, principally long-term care facilities located in the United States. The Company provides lease or mortgage financing to qualified operators of skilled nursing facilities and, to a lesser extent, assisted living and acute care facilities. The Company has historically financed investments through borrowings under its revolving credit facilities, private placements or public offerings of debt or equity securities, the assumption of secured indebtedness, or a combination of these methods. The Company also finances acquisitions through the exchange of properties or the issuance of shares of its capital stock when the transactions otherwise satisfy its investment criteria.
