M.D.C. Holdings, Inc. (MDC) is the owner and manager of subsidiary companies that build and sell homes under the name Richmond American Homes. The Company also owns and manages HomeAmerican Mortgage Corporation, which originates mortgage loans primarily for MDC's homebuyers. In addition, MDC provides title agency services through American Home Title and Escrow Company and offers insurance through American Home Insurance Agency, Inc. to MDC's homebuyers. MDC's business consists of two segments, homebuilding and financial services. In the Company's homebuilding segment, MDC builds and sells single-family homes in metropolitan Denver, Colorado Springs and Northern Colorado; Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland; Northern and Southern California; Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. The Company's financial services segment consists principally of the operations of HomeAmerican.
