Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LCAH) is an independent clinical laboratory company. Through a national network of laboratories, LCAH offers more than 4,000 different clinical laboratory tests, which are used by the medical profession in routine testing, patient diagnosis, and in the monitoring and treatment of disease. Since its founding in 1971, the Company has grown into a network of 24 primary testing facilities and approximately 1,200 service sites consisting of branches, patient service centers and STAT laboratories, serving clients in 50 states. The Company provides testing services to a broad range of healthcare providers, including independent physicians and physician groups, hospitals, HMOs and other managed care groups, as well as to other institutions, including governmental agencies, large employers and other independent clinical laboratories that do not have the breadth of the Company's testing capabilities. |
