The Laclede Group, Inc., formerly known as Laclede Gas Company, is a public utility engaged in the retail distribution and transportation of natural gas. The Company, which is subject to the jurisdiction of the Missouri Public Service Commission, serves the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, the City of St. Charles, and parts of St. Charles, Franklin, Jefferson, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Iron, Madison and Butler Counties, all in Missouri. As an adjunct to its gas distribution and transportation business, the Company operates underground natural gas storage fields and is engaged in the transportation and storage of liquid propane. The Company has also made investments in some non-utility businesses as part of a diversification program.
