Lan Chile S.A., founded in 1929 by the Chilean government, is a provider of domestic and international passenger and cargo air services in Chile. The Company serves 15 destinations in Chile, 17 destinations elsewhere in Latin America and seven destinations in the United States, Europe and the South Pacific. In addition, as of May 31, 2001, through its various code-share agreements, the Company offers service to 13 additional destinations in the United States, six additional destinations in Europe and one additional destination in Latin America. The Company has a fleet of 14 wide-bodied aircraft, 25 narrow-bodied passenger aircraft (excluding two Boeing 737 passenger aircraft it sub-leases to LanPerú) and eight freighter aircraft. The Company's operations are carried out by a number of different subsidiaries, using a variety of brand names. |
