KEMET Corporation is a manufacturer of solid tantalum capacitors, a manufacturer of multilayer ceramic capacitors, and is engaged in the development of solid aluminum capacitors. The Company has 14 manufacturing plants located in South Carolina, North Carolina and Mexico. Additionally, the Company has wholly owned foreign subsidiaries, which primarily sell KEMET's products in foreign markets. KEMET manufactures a full line of capacitors, including solid tantalum, multilayer ceramic, and solid aluminum. Most customers buy both tantalum and ceramic capacitors from the Company. KEMET manufactures these types of capacitors in many different sizes and configurations. The Company produces leaded capacitors, which are attached to a circuit board using lead wires, and surface-mount capacitors, which are attached directly to the circuit board without lead wires.
