Manor Care, Inc. provides a range of healthcare services, including skilled nursing care, assisted living, subacute medical and rehabilitation care, rehabilitation therapy, home healthcare, hospice care and management services for subacute care and rehabilitation therapy. The most significant portion of the Company's business relates to long-term care, including skilled nursing care and assisted living. At December 31, 2001, the Company operated 299 skilled nursing facilities and 56 assisted-living facilities in 32 states with more than 60% of its facilities located in Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
